‘Last Light’ Emitted by a Star Displayed [Video]

The star, which was followed after its supernova and observed for more than 5 years, was imaged as it emitted its last lights.

There are still many unknowns about the births and deaths of stars. While the scientific world continues to make a great effort to reveal these mysteries, an impressive image has been shared recently.

The research, published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, has made public an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Hubble, a dying the last lights of the star emitted in its galaxy managed to catch up. The resulting image was as follows:

The last light emitted by a star:

The ‘d’ refers to the day the image was taken.

The image we see above was created by combining several images taken over 5 years by Hubble. The star whose last light we watched, it was experiencing the supernova event, it was exploding violently. The last light of the star emitted into space was also spreading in waves in the galaxy.

The appearance of the image occurred thanks to the scientists’ decision to watch the star after this supernova that occurred in 2016. The supernova, defined as ‘SN 2016adj’, is in the Milky Way Galaxy we are in. Inside its neighbor Centaurus A, 12 million light-years away existed.
