President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements, especially the inflation expectations for 2023, after the Cabinet Meeting. A decision concerning the students was also announced here. Erdogan said that they will raise nearly 50 percent for KYK student loans and scholarships.
KYK education loan and scholarship increases from 850 TL to 1250 TL!
After the Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan touched upon some of the issues on Turkey’s agenda. Immediately after, he announced his inflation expectations for the next year. He said that in the first place, it will decrease to 40 percent levels in a few months and to 20 percent by the end of the year.
Afterwards, he shared that successful students will be given incentives. But he hid the news that millions of students were waiting for until the end of his speech. According to the statement, students who receive KYK education loans and scholarships will receive a 50 percent increase as of next month.
Parliament has made its decision! Have mask penalties and KYK loan interest been deleted?
The final decision was made by the Parliament about the mask penalty applied during the Covid-19 pandemic period and the interest paid by KYK loan recipients.
Accordingly, the current 850 TL education loan and scholarships received by university students will be 1250 TL after January 2023. However, no statement was made on KYK dormitory fees and other loans and scholarships.
