Deer stuck in metal fence
Krefeld – On Saturday afternoon, the fire department in Krefeld-Traar had a rather unusual mission.
Residents of a farm on Kemmerhofstraße had dialed the emergency call and reported an animal in a helpless emergency.
When rescuers arrived at the scene, they discovered a deer trapped in a metal fence. The residents had meanwhile put a blanket over the poor animal’s head so that it was less stressed. In addition, they held it down so that it wouldn’t injure itself on the fence.
The fire brigade used heavy hydraulic equipment to force apart the metal bars of the fence. In this way, the unlucky even-toed ungulate could be freed.
The hunting supervisor who had arrived in the meantime finally examined the deer, treated a graze and then released it again together with the fire brigade.
