Kia EV9 introduced! What does it offer?
Kia, one of the Anadolu Group brands, introduced the EV9, which was put on sale in our country at the beginning of this year, after its fully electric models EV6 and Niro EV, at an event it organized. Kia Turkey officials and the Turkish designer of the vehicle, Berk Erner, also attended the event held in the 1,600-year-old historical Şerefiye Cistern.
Providing information about Kia’s future vision, Kia Turkey General Manager Can Ağyel said:
“We are bringing our electric cars, which have been released on a global scale since 2022, to Turkey. We had previously started sales of EV6 and Niro EV. This year, we brought our new electric flagship model, EV9, to our country.
We think that the EV9, which is in the E segment and stands out with its superior features in terms of performance, design and technology, will be a game changer in the electric SUV class. To introduce this special model, we chose this historical place that reflects our brand’s past experience and future vision.
The automotive industry has a serious responsibility to achieve carbon neutral targets. In this sense, brands also have investments. Within the scope of the Plan S strategy we announced in 2020, we will develop 14 electric models by 2030. EV6 and Niro EV are the first cars of this strategy. We continue to work in line with our strategy with EV9. Electric cars will increasingly take part in our lives.
We also see this when we look at the sales of electric cars in our country. While the rate of electric cars in total passenger sales in our country was 1 percent in 2022, it reached approximately 7 percent in 2023. When we include electrically assisted vehicles, the rate reaches almost 20 percent. We make our investments according to this strategy.

As a result of their joint work, Hyundai and Kia introduced Active Air Skirt (AAS) technology, which will provide additional range.
Kia EV9 price and features
The new Kia EV9 is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. The rear-wheel drive version has 149.5 kW power, 350 Nm torque and a WLTP range of up to 563 km. The four-wheel drive version has a range of 505 km with two electric motors producing 141 kW each.
The new EV9, which comes with 800 volt ultra-fast charging feature, offers a range of up to 249 km in the rear-wheel drive version and 226 km in the four-wheel drive version in 15 minutes. Therefore, we can say that its 99.8 kWh capacity battery is charged in a short time with fast charging.
The interior of the EV9, which has six and seven-seat options, has leather upholstery and recycled materials. While the swivel seat or relaxation features are offered optionally on the second row seats, it comes with innovations such as digital side mirrors, electric door handles, cooled seats and panoramic screen.
Kia EV9 manages to be among the widest passenger cars ever produced with its length of 5,015 mm, width of 1,980 mm and height of 1,780 mm. Luggage volume also offers users large storage areas. The rear luggage volume of 828 liters, especially in the rear-wheel drive version, draws attention.
The starting price of the New Kia EV9, which is offered for sale in Turkey, is 4 million 20 thousand TL. The four-wheel drive model costs 4 million 950 thousand TL.
