Berlin The economic politician Katharina Dröge wants to become leader of the Greens. She wrote to the MPs of her party to inform them of her candidacy. The letter is in the Handelsblatt.

“We can only be successful as a team. And I would like to lead this team for the next few years as one of two group leaders, ”it says. First the “Spiegel” reported.

The 37-year-old was the economic policy spokeswoman for her parliamentary group in the last legislative period and was a member of the parliamentary group’s executive committee as the parliamentary manager. During the coalition negotiations for the formation of the traffic light alliance, she was the green chief negotiator in the Labor Working Group and was part of the negotiating team of the Economy Working Group.

Dröge was also acted as state secretary in the new super ministry “Economy and Climate Protection” by party leader Robert Habeck. However, in contrast to Habeck, Dröge belongs to the left wing of the Greens.

The previous parliamentary group consisting of Anton Hofreiter and Katrin Göring-Eckardt originally wanted to take over ministerial posts in the new traffic light government. However, neither of them came into play.
