Jörg Burzer moves up to the Daimler Board of Management

Munich In the course of the spin-off of the truck division in December, there were a number of personnel changes on the Board of Management of Daimler AG. Wilfried Porth, head of HR for many years, is retiring. He is succeeded by Mercedes manager Sabine Kohlenisen.

It is also clear that Martin Daum, the manager responsible for the future independent truck business, will leave the committee. However, this would reduce the Daimler Board of Management to seven people.

Some of the supervisory boards of the Dax group recently flirted with this idea. Ultimately, however, the Control Council should unanimously decide against this option. Rather, Jörg Burzer should get the empty space from Daum, the Handelsblatt learned from corporate circles. As head of production at Mercedes-Benz, the 51-year-old is already on the divisional board of the passenger car unit and is likely to receive a new five-year contract.
