John Wick Director Shares Kevin Feige’s Tips

The director of the John Wick series shared the advice he received from Marvel President Kevin Feige when creating the universe.

No matter how much the latest movies and TV series are discussed, it is an undeniable fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has achieved great success. One of the most critical names behind this success is Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios.

Kevin Feige’s success has of course enabled him to receive offers for other universe projects as well. Moreover, DC was among these offers. But the only offer we know Feige accepted is John Wick universe for di. So how did Feige contribute to shaping the Wick universe? Here is the answer to this question, shared today.

How was the John Wick universe developed with Feige’s advice?

Chat Stahelski, the director of John Wick movies, has announced his relationship with Feige since the first John Wick movie. Speaking to Looper, Stahelski described the beginning of Feige’s adventure from the making of the first movie as follows:

“When I started doing John Wick, when we tried to step into John Wick 2 and John Wick 3 and then step 3 and 4, I called Feige’s team and said, ‘I know, Kevin is really busy. Would it be suitable for a meeting?’ I asked.

Feige replied, ‘Sure, how can I help you?’ He turned around like, and I’m like, ‘I’ve got this John Wick. Give me advice. What is the best way to deal with this? Some think it’s a one-shot, some see it as quick money.’ I said.”

After these conversations, Stahelski stated that he shared his plans for John Wick with Feige and that Feige gave advice on series and world creation. The biggest piece of advice he gave was, according to Stahelski:

“I love what I do. Listen to your heart, your heart, and be respectful of the fans. Do what you want to see and you will be fine.”

Of course, Feige reminded Stahelski that the John Wick series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are not the same thing:

“I have a 75-year-old series. You only have one movie, so things will be a little different. Think about each frame, each moment. There are no empty stages, no empty performances, no empty background actors, no leading actors. Everything is in front of the camera.”

Stahelski shared that the newly released John Wick 4 is an accumulation of all these recommendations. How well do you think the John Wick universe reflects these recommendations?
