Istanbul-Ankara Road Opened to Traffic

Transportation on the Istanbul-Ankara D-100 and Anatolian Highway, which has been closed to transportation for a long time, has started to be provided in two directions. It has been reported that the works on the TEM Highway continue.

The cold weather, which showed its effect throughout Turkey, brought snow to the majority of the country. The heavy snow, which has affected many provinces except the western part of Turkey since the past days, has also reached Istanbul and the surrounding provinces. Heavy snowfall caused the Ankara – Istanbul road to be closed for hours.

The highway, which was completely closed to Ankara – Istanbul directions, was closed to traffic at around 21 in the evening after heavy type and icing. While transportation stopped on the D-100 and Anatolian Highway in the direction of Ankara, the TEM highway on the other hand was closed. The traffic reached a queue of 17 kilometers, especially at the Düzce-Bolu crossing of the TEM highway.
