Is a heat pump worthwhile in the long term in comparison?

Dusseldorf Many people are therefore thinking about replacing their heating system. There is some information and offers – but which heating system is the cheapest in comparison? Pellet heating, heat pump, district heating, solar thermal or perhaps a new gas heating system?

We have worked with the North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center to calculate how expensive heating with gas heating and the alternatives could be in a year and 20 years in a typical four-person house. This takes into account: acquisition and running costs.

In addition, we will use a study to show you whether it is cheaper to heat rented apartments with a new heat pump or with a new gas heating system.

Cost comparison: gas heating, heat pump and district heating

The following example calculations for comparing the heating costs refer to a free-standing single-family house, built in 1985, with 150 square meters of living space. Electricity and gas price brakes are not included here – it is about the prices that would actually have to be paid over the years (without state aid).
