According to Kaspersky report, spyware can infect iPhones without the user taking any action. Hackers send an invisible iMessage containing a malicious attachment to the iPhone user. This message then triggers a vulnerability that leads to code execution regardless of whether the user interacts with the message.
The malicious code starts downloading additional steps from a command and control (C&C) server, which exploits vulnerabilities in the iOS operating system for device escalation. The malicious code also deletes the sent message after the device is hacked. Since all these processes take place in the background, users cannot notice any abnormality occurring on their devices.
