As you know, Apple started using the previous year’s processor in basic models with the iPhone 14 series. The company, which continues this habit in the iPhone 15, seems to break this stubbornness with the iPhone 16. Although this new processor will come to all models, there is a possibility that we will encounter a differentiated A18 in Pro models, as it did this year. As you know, Apple included the A17 Pro processor in the iPhone 15 Pro models. It is also possible that we will encounter a processor with the Pro tag.
But why is Apple changing its two-year strategy? Although this information is not exact, there is a high probability that sales figures are behind the strategy change. For Apple, iPhone 15 sales were below expectations. One of the main reasons for this is the increasing feature gap between the basic model and the Pro models.
Developments in terms of both processor performance, camera and new features seem to have moved users away from the basic model. In this sense, Apple is trying to change this understanding with the iPhone 16 processor.
