Increasing the highway speed limit: Here is the date!

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, in a statement he made, said that the speed limit on Turkish highways will be regulated and the current one will be exceeded. In addition, the date of implementation of this new rule was also shared.

Minister Varank announced: Agricultural lands were sprayed with drone free of charge!

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank said that Elazig farmers were sprayed with drones on their agricultural lands.

The highway speed limit will be increased to 140 as of July 1!

According to KGM data, the total road network reached 68 thousand 526 kilometers as of 01.01.22 in Turkey. However, most of these roads are provincial roads and state roads. In fact, according to the shared data, we see that there are many different types of roads other than asphalt concrete, such as surface coating, parquet, stabilized, soil and other roads.

Road network by surface type (km) Asphalt Concrete Surface coating Parquet stabilize Soil other ways Total
Motorway 3,532 3,532
state roads 19 thousand 280 11 thousand 314 46 22 303 30 thousand 965
provincial roads 5 thousand 494 25 thousand 573 241 303 339 2 thousand 079 34 thousand 029
Total 28 thousand 306 36 thousand 887 287 325 339 2 thousand 382 68 thousand 526

According to the statement made by Soylu, with the regulation to be made, the current highway speed limit in our country will be 140 km/h instead of 120 km/h. It should be noted that this regulation will only be valid on highways, not on state roads and provincial roads.

In addition, a 10 percent share is left to the person when the penalty is imposed for exceeding the speed limit. In other words, a certain penalty is applied when the speed of 132 km/h is exceeded, not 120, and the size of this penalty is increased at the same rate if higher speeds are exceeded. For this reason, as of July 1, after the new regulation is approved, this penalty limit will no longer be applied to vehicles traveling over 154 km/h, not 132 km/h.
