Increase in KKM Continues: Remains at 3 Trillion TL

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the increase in the amount of currency-protected TL deposit and participation accounts continues unabated.

Currency-protected TL deposits and participation accounts increased significantly from TL 2 trillion 846.7 billion to TL 2 trillion 962.3 billion in the last week. This development shows that investors continue to shape their investment behavior in order to reduce currency risk and hedge against currency fluctuations.

In the same period, the volume of loans in banks continues to grow. Loans increased from 9 trillion 996.5 billion TL to 10 trillion 137.1 billion TL. Deposits also increased in parallel. In the last week, the amount of deposits has reached 12 trillion 154.9 billion TL from 11 trillion 787.3 billion TL.

On the other hand, there was a partial increase in the amount of non-performing loans of banks. NPLs increased from TL 168.9 billion to TL 169.2 billion.
