Huawei found a trojan in the Google application!

As you know, Huawei devices come without Google Play Services and other Google services. Some users want to install Google applications manually. However, images shared on social media revealed that Google Play Services was detected as a trojan and was not installed.

Huawei found trojan in Google Play Services

Optimizer, the malware scanning service built into HarmonyOS, provided an unexpected response for Google apps. It was stated that Huawei owners who wanted to install Google Play Services received a “TrojanSMS-PA” virus warning.

For those who don’t know, this trojan virus is designed to send paid SMS without the user’s knowledge. This may lead to high bills without the user knowing. It was curious that a basic application such as Google Play Services gave this error.

A new era begins for Instagram and Facebook. The paid ad-free subscription package of Twitter, formerly known as X, is now available on Meta platforms…

Neither Huawei nor Google has yet made a statement regarding the trojan warning. However, it seems possible that the Optimizer application misunderstood the working logic of Google Play Services.

The virus warning also shed light on the problematic relationship between Huawei and Google. As you know, Huawei lost access to Google services and technology after it was blacklisted by the USA in 2019.

The two companies have barely worked together for more than three years. This may lead to errors or accessibility issues. However, it should be underlined that Google applications do not contain any trojans.
