How to invest against water scarcity

The shares of the medium-sized company from Rhineland-Palatinate offer an attractive dividend yield. Water shares and water ETFs open up opportunities to invest against the scarcity of resources.

The company is a prime example of a provider dedicated to one of humanity’s greatest challenges: the supply of clean water.

Almost 80 million people are added to the world population every year. According to forecasts, it will grow from currently around eight billion to more than ten billion in the coming decades. And all these people need drinking water.

“Water is irreplaceable,” says Gerhard Wagner, Head of Sustainable Investment at the fund company Swisscanto, summing up the explosiveness. Overcoming these challenges therefore requires enormous investments. Investors can participate – via funds, ETFs and selected shares.
