How to check your tax assessment

However, the front runner among the cities comes from North Rhine-Westphalia. The average processing time for the tax officials from the Hanseatic city of Warburg was a good 32 days. The slowest office in Mannheim-Neckarstadt (Baden-Württemberg), on the other hand, needed more than 83 days. These values ​​were determined on the basis of tax returns submitted in 2021 via “Income tax compact”.

In defense of the officials on site, however, it must be said that the processing time can also be significantly delayed due to queries to the taxpayer. This is usually given a period of several weeks to reply, which many use. And so the decision can quickly be delayed for some time, even without the tax office being able to do anything about it.
