Real Estate: Houses offer protection against inflation
Fear is a powerful ally. Until recently, many German brokerage offices were still very busy because concerns about rising inflation drove many investors into the supposedly safe property. Many see them as the last lucrative way to invest their assets safely, is how Anja Pötters from Poll’s major broker described the motivation of many buyers in the spring.
A survey by the German Institute for Wealth Creation and Old-Age Insurance (DIVA) revealed: 36.5 percent of citizens consider real estate a means of protecting themselves against currency depreciation.
