How the Charité’s leading neurosurgeon became an emotional boss

The first edition of Handelsblatt Disrupt in the new year will be moderated by Handelsblatt Deputy Editor-in-Chief Kirsten Ludowig. She talks to Peter Vajkoczy, Director of the Clinic for Neurosurgery at the Charité Berlin, about empathy in the operating room, the limits of work-life balance in hospitals and automation in medicine.

Vajkoczy is one of the best-known neurosurgeons in the world, was the youngest chief physician at the Charité at the age of 39 and has performed over 20,000 brain operations.

He also explains what neurosurgery has in common with high-performance sports and how he developed from a snot to an emotional boss.
