This is Sam Bankman-Fried’s signature look, regardless of whether he’s talking to hedge fund managers, standing on stage with Bill Clinton and Tony Blair, or sitting cross-legged in a semi-circular armchair and reading the Handelsblatt in the Bahamas, as he is right now meets for a conversation.

At the end of April, the 30-year-old with the soft voice, untamed hair and total assets of around 17 billion US dollars gathered the who’s who from finance, politics and the crypto world in the Caribbean – and in his own way sent a warning signal to the Wall Street establishment.

FTX is the third largest crypto exchange in the world three years after its inception and is worth more than Deutsche Bank. “SBF”, as Bankman-Fried likes to call himself, has risen to become one of the most important players in the financial world.
