Heinz Hermann Thiele’s son had renounced his compulsory inheritance share. He now wanted to have this waiver declared null and void by a court.

Dusseldorf The dispute over the billions in inheritance of entrepreneur Heinz Hermann Thiele continues: the lawyers for his son Henrik announced to the Handelsblatt that they would contest the recent defeat at the Munich I district court. “In our opinion, the judgment contains significant errors,” says Clemens Hüber from the law firm Bayer Krauss Hueber. “We have therefore appealed to the Higher Regional Court.”

Henrik Thiele wanted the court to find that an agreement between him and his father dated July 11, 2017 was void. At that time, Henrik Thiele had given up what he said was a 4.5 billion euro stake in the family holding company for a payment of 25 million euros and waived claims to his father’s inheritance. In court, his lawyers argued that Henrik Thiele had been urged by his father to do so in an inadmissible manner. The court found the son’s complaint to be without merit.
