Hakuto-R sends new images of Earth

Tokyo-based space company ispacelaunched the Hakuto-R earlier this week. Hakuto-R, who has been on the Moon journey for a few days, shared the first frames of the Earth. The first images of the journey, which is planned to take about four months, managed to arouse repercussions on social media.

SpaceX Falcon 9 The spacecraft, which was sent with a rocket, started to bear fruit about 19 hours after launch. The cameras on the vehicle recorded the crescent-shaped Earth. The reason the planet appears as a crescent is due to the fact that only a part of it is illuminated by sunlight.

Frank Teti, Managing Director of Canadensys, who designed the imaging system, said: “We are pleased with the performance of the imaging system and the quality of the first space images we have obtained. “Designing systems to operate in harsh environments on the lunar surface is always a challenge, but we think we’ve solved it.”

The Hakuto-R spacecraft is chasing a successful landing on the Moon’s surface, which no private company has accomplished before. Previously, SpaceIL and Israel Aerospace Industries tried to land the Beresheet vehicle on the Moon, but Beresheet crashed into the lunar surface.

On the other hand, the Orion spacecraft launched by NASA for the Moon mission should not be ignored. The photos taken by the high-resolution camera mounted on the end of Orion’s solar panels revealed the Moon in all its beauty.
