The locked folder feature for Google Photos, which has been exclusive to the Pixel series for a while, is also coming to other Android phones.
Google Photos changes its mobile data backup system
Google Photos has long offered backup over both Wi-Fi and mobile networks. Here, for users who do not want to consume the mobile network quota, it includes only backup over Wi-Fi and disabling backup when using mobile data, and daily limit features for backups in mobile data usage in countries where current Wi-Fi connections are not very common, such as India.
However, recently, Google introduced the daily limit feature, which is used in regions where Wi-Fi networks are not common, all over the world. Thus, the option to disable backups when using mobile data has been deprecated. Let’s point out that for now, the development in question includes videos.
From now on, users have to select No Data, 5 MB, 10 MB, 30 MB and Unlimited options to take control of their video backups while using mobile data. To view these settings, simply follow the steps Google Photos > Photo settings > Backup and sync > Cellular data usage.
However, interestingly, there is not the slightest information text about the change in Google Photos support page. Instead, we can say that the old settings are still mentioned. Of course, when this was the case, allegations began to emerge that the company made the function available as a result of an error.
