Zurich The gold trader Degussa has released the spokesman for the management, Markus Krall, with immediate effect. The company announced this on Monday afternoon in Frankfurt. Krall will devote himself to new professional challenges, the statement said. The company did not provide any information on the reasons. Until a successor is found, the other board members will take over Krall’s tasks.
As Degussa boss, Krall had polarized people strongly. For years he had been spreading gloomy economic forecasts in lectures and on social media, questioning climate change and campaigning, for example, for liberal gun laws or the restriction of voting rights for transfer recipients.
Just two weeks ago, the “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” reported that the Swiss diocese of Chur had initially invited Krall to give a lecture, but had finally uninvited it because of its controversial positions.
