Germany bans Huawei and ZTE! Here’s why

Germany is preparing to take strict steps for the country’s cyber security. The German Government has not been particularly keen on technological products of Chinese origin for several years. Companies like Oppo and OnePlus were also banned for different reasons. Latest reports reveal the government’s strategy.

Germany thinks Huawei and ZTE products are not safe

Reports in the German press say that the government aims to eliminate Chinese telecommunications products within 3 to 5 years. According to the report, Germany thinks that companies such as Huawei and ZTE pose a problem in terms of cyber security.

In fact, the issue concerns mobile network operators. Germany is preparing to ban mobile operators from using companies such as Huawei and ZTE. If the decision comes into force, operators such as Telekom, Vodafone and Telefónica will have to abandon Chinese kits in their RAN systems by 2024.

However, the Ministry of Digital has some reservations about this issue. It is thought that the decision will cause problems for operators using Huawei technology. In terms of cost, it is thought that it will cost billions of dollars to handle it.

In fact, this was not the case for Germany. At the end of last year, the United States crossed out Huawei and decided not to use its telecommunications equipment. However, Germany did not want to ban China-based technology giant Huawei at that time. Instead, he said, there should be increased scrutiny of all telecommunications equipment entering the country.
