Gazprom subsidiary Wingas restricts gas trading in Germany

Dusseldorf The broker of a large portfolio manager who buys natural gas for German municipal utilities and energy companies is surprised: he has not been able to conclude long-term gas supply contracts with his trading partner Wingas for several days. “You were one of the biggest to ever offer. That’s strange,” he says.

A Wingas seller confirms on the phone that the Gazprom subsidiary is fulfilling existing contracts, but that new long-term deals are not possible. This is due to the current political situation and the situation on the gas market; the employee does not go into further detail. One was one of the few dealers who “were still offering until the very end”.
