Tesla cannot avoid software problems!

Last October, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a post on social media that they had to roll back version 10.3 of the Full Self-Driving beta software due to problems with forward collision warnings and phantom braking.

However, since then, the number of complaints from users who have experienced brake failure in Tesla vehicles has increased considerably. According to the latest news, while 34 complaints were received to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the 22 months before the incident, this number increased to 107 in the last 3 months.

In most of the complaints, it is stated that the autonomous driving mode of the vehicle is turned on. Also, many people say that the road is completely clear and there are no obstacles in front of the vehicle. But for some reason, presumably software, the car sees an obstacle and brakes suddenly.

Of course, there are many people who point out that the sensors in some cars may have malfunctioned, since this is not a general problem experienced in all vehicles. However, in his previous statements, Musk pointed out that this is a problem that comes with version 10.3.

A spokesperson for NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) made the following statement on the subject:

We are aware of the complaints received about forward collision avoidance. We review these through our risk-based assessment process. This process includes interviews with the manufacturer and review of additional data sources, including Early Warning Reporting data. If data indicates there may be a risk, NHTSA will take immediate action.

Elon Musk says that this problem came with the last shared beta version, so they pulled the software back. But the number of users who are clearly experiencing the problem is increasing. Therefore, a second statement on the subject is expected from the company at the moment.
