Forest investment via crypto token: green gold or risky investment?

Dusseldorf Investors who want to invest sustainably have to take a close look in many cases. Because when it comes to green investments, there are still many gray areas.

There is no official yardstick for when a stock or bond is truly sustainable. The so-called EU taxonomy should actually create transparency here. But the EU Commission’s decision to define nuclear power and natural gas as sustainable is likely to make many people even more unsure.

Those who do not want to make any compromises could consider investing directly in the forest. Forest scientist Andreas Schulte from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster describes direct forest investments as “the mother of all green investments”.

The idea behind it is simple: Trees remove the greenhouse gas CO2 from the atmosphere and can make a contribution to the fight against climate change. In addition, wood prices have risen sharply in the past year.
