Berlin An image generator that wins art competitions, software that fights cases in court, or a program that generates code itself: artificial intelligence has the potential to change the world of work forever. According to the latest report by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the future of work, 75 percent of the companies surveyed want to use AI for themselves in the next five years. In the IT sector or the automotive industry it is even more than 80 percent.

That scares a lot of people, but it also harbors opportunities. AI does not necessarily have to be a job killer. While some tasks become redundant, new ones arise. Although AI systems are able to process enormous amounts of data, people have to point the way and evaluate the results. Data must be prepared, systems implemented and revised.

But who exactly do companies need for this? The Handelsblatt spoke to researchers, management consultants and headhunters – and defined five job profiles that will be in demand in the future.
