“First SMS” Sold as NFT by Vodafone for Approximately 120 Thousand Dollars

A text message (SMS) sent from a mobile phone in 1992 was auctioned for $120,600 at the Aguttes auction house last Tuesday.

“I think it will be interesting to keep this historic piece as an asset until next year and sell it next Christmas,” NFT’s new owner told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Vodafone said it plans to donate the proceeds from the sale to the United Nations’ refugee agency.
