Fireworks ban 2021: three graphics on the fireworks industry

Dusseldorf The majority of Germans prefer to celebrate the turn of the year traditionally: Champagne, “Dinner for One” and the New Year’s countdown on television – that is part of it for the vast majority. New Year’s Eve is not for everyone: Many are disturbed by the hustle and bustle – and some by the fireworks. Too loud, too harmful for animals and the environment, is their opinion. They should therefore welcome the renewed ban this year, which was confirmed on Tuesday by the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court.

The fireworks ban a year ago hit manufacturers and retailers massively: the sales practically vanished into thin air. This time, too, it is unlikely to get any better because politics has once again banned the firecrackers from the counter.

Only a small minority of the population would like the big bang of a New Year’s party. Many others criticize the cost, noise and pollution when the New Year is loudly welcomed.
