Arbitrum aims to increase its impact on the Ethereum ecosystem by acquiring the company behind Ethereum’s most popular POS client, Prysm.

The acquisition of Arbitrum, which offers higher-speed transactions with lower transaction fees on the Ethereum network, is considered an important move in terms of expanding its footprint on the network.

Again, the acquisition of one of Ethereum’s most prominent Tier 1 teams by a Layer 2 company was interpreted as a signal that the impact of Layer 2 on the Ethereum ecosystem will increase.

Raul Jordan, co-founder of Prysmatic Labs, said of the merger:

“Combining with Offchain Labs makes perfect sense for us as an Ethereum team. Because we develop software extensively and are fully encouraged by the success of Ethereum and focus on producing quality software for others to use.”

It was stated that Prysm’s client will continue to work after the purchase.

“This is not an acquisition,” Offchain CTO Harry Kalodner said in a statement. The Prysm team will gradually begin to integrate more as time goes on and spend more time developing the layer 2 future.” said.

Popular Layer-2 protocol Arbitrumdoes not yet have a token.
