Dusseldorf The superlatives that Mercedes is throwing at customers for its new top model should leave no doubt that they are serious about the EQS. “Automotive luxury at its best” is the electric flagship, nothing less than a “departure into a new, breathtakingly sensual era”.
When it comes to electromobility, Mercedes has big plans, but so far too little to offer. The EQC – the first electric car in the EQ series from Daimler – was not convincing. Too sluggish, too high consumption, too little innovation. With the electric S-Class, the Mercedes EQS, the manufacturer wants and needs to set an exclamation mark. The model should succeed in what the S-Class has always done with combustion engines: to be the best car in its class.
