Moscow The situation remains diffuse in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. For days, the Kremlin has denied US warnings that Russia could attack Ukraine. According to the Kremlin, Putin prefers dialogue and diplomacy to solve the crisis. The first units are said to have been withdrawn from the border area with Ukraine and Crimea.

The USA and NATO continue to accuse Putin of deliberately escalating the conflict through his military presence on the border with Ukraine.
