Deutsche Wohnen puts nursing homes up for sale

Frankfurt The company started a year after Vonovia took over Deutsche Wohnen According to financial sources, with the preparations for a sale of its nursing home division. The business, which is on the books of Deutsche Wohnen with a valuation (fair value) of around 1.2 billion euros, was brought into the merger of the two real estate groups by the Berlin company.

Deutsche Wohnen now wants to commission an investment bank to look for a buyer and start an auction in the summer or autumn, said several people familiar with the transaction. It is not the only sales process in the healthcare services sector: according to financial circles, the Oberberg and Artemis clinic groups are also looking for a buyer.

Deutsche Wohnen explained that the Management Board had decided to carry out a review process for positioning the care segment in the overall group. “This is still in its infancy and will be conducted with an open outcome,” said a company spokesman.
