Deutsche Bank prepares to close its Russian tech centers

Frankfurt Deutsche Bank has made itself largely independent of its Russian technology center and could close it in the foreseeable future. The previous tasks and the know-how of the two IT locations important for the bank in Moscow and Saint Petersburg have largely been transferred to other locations of the bank, several people familiar with the facts told the Handelsblatt.

Now Deutsche Bank is apparently preparing the end of the Russian tech centers: The employees had received the offer to leave the bank for a severance payment, according to institute circles. The offer to move to a location abroad, for example to Berlin, still applies to everyone. Last year, the bank offered all Russian IT employees the opportunity to voluntarily switch to the newly founded tech center in Berlin or to other IT locations.
