Woman buys John Lewis returns pallet for £120 that included a PS5

A WOMAN has revealed how she bagged a PS5 and others goodies from John Lewis in an auction for just £120. 

Katherine Chalmers showed how she “hit the jackpot” after putting in a bid in the blind auction.

She also managed to get five bean bags, a mug, curtain poles, wool, a dog bed, a mirror, a soap dispenser and a bath caddy – along with the popular console. 

Katherine wrote in a TikTok video: “We put a bid for a random pallet of ex-John Lewis goods.

“It’s a blind auction so we didn’t know what would be in the box.

“We paid £120 including delivery. This is pallet arrival day. This was a very exciting gloomy February day.”

How is UFL different to Fifa?

The most notable difference between UFL and Fifa is that UFL will be free-to-play, meaning players get access to a significant amount of the game without paying.

The latest Fifa instalment, Fifa 22, cost between £44.99 and £59.99 at the time of release.

Very little gameplay footage of UFL has been released, but developers promise a wider variety of game modes than what is currently on offer.

UFL has promised more team-based ranking systems as well as an array of co-op and offline game modes.

When will UFL be released?

UFL has no official release date but is set to be available to buy in 2022.

It is rumoured the game may be set for an autumn release to coincide with the new football season.

Fans can sign up to receive promotional materials and more information about the game on the official UFL website.

An exclusive gameplay trailer was released by Strikerz on January 27 showing fans a taste of what they can expect.

What teams will be on UFL?

British clubs West Ham United, Celtic and Rangers have already partnered with UFL.

International teams partnered with the game include Sporting CP, FC Shahktar Donetsk, Borussia Mönchengladbach, AS Monaco and Beşiktaş JK.

Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kevin De Bruyne, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku are all advertising partners for the game.

Appearing in the game’s first official trailer, Manchester United icon and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo was announced as the fifth official ambassador for the game.

What is UFL?

UFL is an upcoming free-to-play football simulation game produced by Strikerz Inc.

Announced in 2021 during video game trade fair Gamescom, Strikerz has been developing the project since 2016.

The game is partnered with FifPro, an organisation that represents more than 65,000 professional footballers, as well as InStat, a sports performance analysis company that will provide statistics for each player.

Strikerz has promised fans that UFL will be a one-off and no sequel will follow.

What is the difference between the PS5 models?

It’s known stuff that Sony sells two versions of the PS5, and these are known as the disc edition and the digital edition.

While they have the same performance, design and technical specifications, the digital edition does not have a disc drive. This means games can only be played by downloading them, and obviously there’s no way to play DVDs or Blu-ray movies.

The digital edition is also cheaper, at £359.99 compared to £449.99 for the disc edition.

Controlling your PS5 with your VOICE

SONY is launching a new voice control feature on the PS5.

The sci-fi trick means you can make your console do things with vocal commands.

The feature is currently in testing, so it’s not available for the PS5 generally.

But anyone who signs up to the beta can test it out right now.

Sony says that you can use the feature to open any game that you like, all with the wake phrase of “Hey PlayStation”.

And it’s the same story for apps.

You can also use voice controls to change various settings.

Additionally, you can control media playback – like playing, pausing and skipping songs.

How do I sign up for the PS5 beta?

You can become a PS5 beta tester by registering on the company’s website.

There are a few rules to sign up to become a beta tester: you must be at least 18 years old; live in the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, France or Germany; and have a valid PS5 account.

Beta testers must submit feedback to Sony about the beta software in order to remain eligible.

If you are chosen, you will receive an email from Sony with more information about beta testing.

System update allows voice control

GAME was expected to restock the PlayStation 5 console between the 8th and 10th of February after 9am.

“Once you are in the queue, do not refresh as the queue is doing all the refreshing for you in the background, live.

“Don’t let the wait time in the queue put you off, hang in there with every bit of patience till the end unless you really haven’t got the time to wait.

“Use guest checkout, rather than using your GAME account. The reason is that there is some sort of error that GAME hasn’t fixed for a long time, where the site won’t let you purchase certain products whilst logged in.”
