Forza Horizon 5 has many activities for players to explore and offers a car for every playstyle. Forza Horizon 5 contains more cars and manufacturers than ever before, with Playground Games announcing more vehicles as the game’s release date draws nearer. Showcases of Forza Horizon 5’s gameplay promise an exhilarating experience, taking the successes of past titles in the franchise and expanding on desired features. Over 50 different manufacturers are confirmed for the title, spanning from classic Cadillacs to Jaguar supercars.
Forza Horizon 5 is an open-world racing game set in Mexico. Players will explore volcanos, Mayan temples, jungles, beaches, and colorful cityscapes (like Guanajuato, a city in central Mexico surrounded by mountains). Playground Games has increased the size of Forza 5’s map by 50% since Forza 4 and expanded the number of available vehicles. More vehicles are planned as post-launch additions, though the nature of these additions is unknown. Forza Horizon 5 also features several DLCs, including the Welcome Pack, Car Pack, and VIP Membership, which are premium add-ons. Two additional expansions will join these add-ons sometime after launch.
Forza Horizon 4 featured many cars that were earnable in different ways, and Forza Horizon 5 will likely mirror some of these mechanics. Completing Story Missions and Championships often rewarded players with fast vehicles reflective of the activity’s difficulty. Players could also join Clubs and receive rewards from completing missions with online ‘allies.’ A lottery mechanic was also present, where players could earn different vehicles with wheel spins or auction off owned cars. Cars players earn and drive are used throughout a wide variety of in-game activities. The game’s current announced collection features many popular vehicles, which may be challenging to secure.
Forza Horizon 5 is home to many virtual versions of prominent manufacturers, including Ferrari, Chevrolet, Honda, Audi, Ford, Jaguar, Mercedes, and more. Ferrari has always maintained a significant presence in the car industry, producing some of the modern-day’s most luxurious (and speedy) rides. The high number of Ferrari cars in Forza Horizon 5 is unsurprising, given the sleek design and high horsepower of many new and old models. As evidenced by the formidable roster of vehicles, Chevrolet is presently one of Forza Horizon 5’s most prominent manufacturers. Though Playground Games promises to add more manufacturers and cars in the weeks leading up to release, it’s unlikely many will be able to match the vast collection of vehicles Chevrolet has already compiled in-game. Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Mercedes are sure to feature valuable racecars, though it’s unknown how these vehicles will hold up in rougher, wilder terrain.
