Amazon is giving you a 19 per cent discount on last year’s Apple Watch series 7 with GPS, and it will have you running wild into the new year.

For this model, the audio architecture has been redesigned, and Amazon claims it delivers up to double the base of the gen 4. Yes, it’s really called that. The cooler than cool cult tech brand Nothing’s first phone has just received a discount this Cyber Monday. Launched in the summer, you can currently save almost £50 on the mid-range handset. “We love a phone that catches attention, and the Nothing phone (1) does exactly that,” our writer said in their review. “The Nothing phone (1) is a perfectly decent mid-range Android phone with a great design and a premium finish. Proof that affordable needn’t mean boring, it’s perhaps the most exciting cheap phone we’ve ever tested.”

Our tester found this model has “an improved processor and more-efficient software” compared with its predecessors. They added the “interface feels sprightly and loading times are greatly reduced”. If you’re looking to upgrade your iPhone this Cyber Monday but don’t need the latest and greatest handset, last year’s iPhone 13 pro is currently on sale at Amazon. The retailer has taken a £60 chunk out of the original price of the 512GB model, so you’ll have plenty of storage to hoard all your apps, photos and videos.

“The swathe of photographic improvements alone are worth upgrading for, made possible by a faster processor and better camera sensors,” our tech critic said in their review. “The first 120Hz display for an iPhone is definitely worth having. The innovations from 2020, such as 5G and the ceramic shield that makes the screen more drop-resistant, are nicely consolidated. And just as importantly, Apple is paying attention to the things that really matter, like battery life, which is exceptionally good.”

It’s rare to find a discount on the standalone Nintendo Switch OLED console, but Asda is serving one up this Cyber Monday, and it’s a doozy. The Nintendo Switch OLED usually costs £309, but you can get it for just £279.

This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen the retailer sell the console for. “Still our favourite Nintendo Switch console, the Nintendo Switch OLED improves upon the original Nintendo Switch in every possible way,” our writer wrote in their review. “It features a larger 7in OLED screen, so you’ll notice that colours are more vivid, and blacks are darker when playing games in handheld mode. There’s a sturdier kickstand so it won’t fall over when you breathe on it, the speakers are slightly better and there’s now an ethernet port for more reliable online play.”

They have active noise cancelling and promise 35 hours of battery life, then fully recharge in two hours via an included USB-C cable. The headphones feature Bluetooth 5.0 and also have a 3.5mm connection for listening to music with a cable, if that’s what you prefer. They are foldable, with an adjustable headband and synthetic leather ear pads. Considering they pack active noise cancelling, this looks like a fantastic deal.

This deal at Amazon sees the Bose 700 wireless headphones reduced by £90. This price is specifically for the white version of the noise-cancelling cans, but, if you want the 700 in black, there’s also a deal, with the price cut by £70 (£279, Amazon.co.uk). Our reviewer said of the Bose 700: “The noise-cancelling ability of these headphones is probably the best you can get on the market – it really is a pleasure to switch them on and switch the world off. Add to that their sophisticated look, lightweight comfort and solid phone-call ability, and you’re hard-pressed to find a better option.

Black Friday 2022

The date for Black Friday changes slightly every year, since it falls on a day of the week rather than a specific date. But it always follows the US holiday of Thanksgiving, which this year was yesterday, 24 November. So, you don’t need a calendar to work out that Black Friday officially started on Friday last week, 25 November.

Lot of retailers (actually, pretty much all of them) have realised just how hungry for deals we all are, and 24 hours simply isn’t enough time to catch ’em all. So, instead, shoppers are asked to put on their seatbelts and brace for an entire weekend of bargain shopping. Perhaps even an entire week.

Even that is selling things short, as, this year, several retailers kicked off the Black Friday celebrations a whole month early. And just when you think it’s all over, the whole thing rumbles on until today, Cyber Monday.Back in the black-and-white, pre-TikTok days, this used to be the online equivalent to Black Friday’s in-store sales, but now it’s hard to tell when one ends and the other begins. Basically, it all starts in November and ends sometime in December.

What is Cyber Monday and when is it?

As we said earlier, Cyber Monday follows Black Friday and takes place today, 28 November.In some cases this will mean a whole new set of deals and discounts available for one day only, or for the rest of the following week. Or, for others, this simply means a rebranding of their existing Black Friday deals. It all depends on how much stock there is to shift, and how much effort the marketing department wants to put in.

What we can say is Cyber Monday acts as a last chance to grab deals on tech, as well as home appliances, kitchen gadgets, TVs and laptops before the Christmas sales burst into life a few weeks later.
