Tens of thousands of users have been tricked into thinking the fake broadcast is real, and some have suffered substantial losses.

In fact, the fake post showed an old interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook. These scammers were able to rank the video high in search results with a series of Apple-related keywords during the event.

Ahead of the company’s highly anticipated “California Broadcast” event, scammers launched a fake YouTube feed that appeared at the top of search results (even above the official Apple channel).

The aim of the scammers was to trick novice users into redirecting them to fake cryptocurrency scam websites.

The channel that broadcast the fake video was shut down after being spotted.

Of course, this fraud method is not used for the first time.

The scammers used the same method during the Apple event in September last year, where Apple introduced the iPhone 13 model. 165,000 people watched the fake YouTube broadcast of the scammers.

In the published video, it was announced that Apple has purchased about 100,000 BTC and will hold a gift event. There was also an old interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook to make the video look realistic.
