Tesla has decided to suspend operations for the second time this month for its Shanghai production facility, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was first closed for two days in the past weeks. With the new decision, the shutdown will continue for the next four days, including today. Therefore, we can say that the company closed this week.
At the same time, this Tesla facility -Gigafactory Shanghai-, which also includes the world’s largest electric car production factory, produces vehicles primarily for the Chinese market. However, it also has a high export target to European countries, especially Germany and Japan. In fact, according to the latest data, it can pull 60 thousand cars off the production line per month.
Although most cases are asymptomatic in China and especially in the Shanghai region, the government has started a new two-stage quarantine as of today, where it will carry out mass testing.
