Salvador The sound makes the – new – music: For the first time in years, an official US delegation arrived in the Venezuelan capital Caracas at the weekend, and two days later Washington imposed an oil embargo on Russia.
The diplomatic offensive is no accident. The White House confirmed that US military officials were there discussing the energy issue with President Nicolás Maduro as if it were routine. Maduro described the meeting with US officials as “respectful, cordial and very diplomatic.”
