President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir was in Elazig recently. Demir, who made various contacts in Elazig, also made statements about the development of Turkey’s defense industry. Sharing the new news afterwards, Demir stated that chip production will begin in Turkey.
SSB President İsmail Demir Elazığ said, “We have established a company called TÜYAR for chip and the main responsibility of the company is to prioritize the chip policy in Turkey and to realize various cooperation and investments related to it. I hope we will take the first step towards chip sheathing here (Elazig) together with our TÜYAR company.” said.

Demir also gave information about the “Radar System Monitoring Behind the Wall” product of the defense industry company STM, of which he is the chairman of the board, and stated that they started to develop the product in the first place, but later put it on the shelf due to the changing dynamics. After the earthquake disaster, STM sent all the radars in their hands to the region and stated that 30 citizens under the rubble were rescued in the region.
Stating that the product will continue to be developed and produced in Elazig, which experienced an earthquake disaster in 2020 and was also affected by the disaster in 2023, Demir stated that the chip production leg will be established in Elazig together with TUYAR company. With these statements, it has been demonstrated that Elazig has the potential to become a new defense industry technology production area.
TÜYAR, which will work in cooperation with Fırat University, will provide software, etc., both in chip production and in the production of behind-the-wall radar. It will work together with Fırat University and Fırat University Technopark on its subjects. Thus, it is expected that the region will develop and the ranking of the university on a country basis will increase.
