China Banning Cryptocurrencies Establishes First Virtual Campus in Metaverse!

The Chinese government, which had a negative attitude towards the popular trend of recent times, Metaverse after its harsh decisions on the crypto industry, said in its previous statements that the Metaverse consisted of a bubble.

Despite China’s harsh cryptocurrency policy, Metaverse technology continues to grow in China. In this context, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba announced that it has established its own Metaverse company.

Metaverse, which attracted great attention all over the world after Facebook changed its name to Meta, is showing its effect in China.

Because, China Communication University, one of the largest universities in the country, announced that it has stepped into Metaverse.

Announcing that China’s giant technology company Baidu will open a virtual campus in XiRang, the Metaverse application, China Communication University became the country’s first academic institution to enter the Metaverse.

Visitors of the virtual campus will be able to navigate the campus with VR glasses, mobile phones or computers.

The XiRang metaverse platform, which means “land of hope,” was launched in December by tech giant Baidu.

Virtual universities are expected to grow in popularity with Meta’s promise to build 10 metaverse university campuses as part of its partnership with VR headset maker VictoryXR.

In addition, Stanford University opened the first VR classroom to facilitate distance education.
