Nearly 500 stray animals waiting to be adopted are on the Paw Map!

Even the centers where they are cared for in the best conditions do not replace a warm home for our friends living on the streets. However, an important step has been taken towards changing this picture. Cheetos, one of PepsiCo’s leading snack brands, working to improve the living conditions of stray animals, has launched a new project in cooperation with the Animal Rights Federation HAYTAP. This study aims to reunite approximately 500 stray animals with their new owners.

When clicking on the Paw Map on www.cheetos.com.tr, animal lovers can start the adoption process by accessing both the addresses of nursing homes and detailed information about stray animals waiting to be adopted in different provinces across Turkey. The first step of the adoption process is to complete their application by filling out a form with contact information. The adoption process is coordinated by HAYTAP officials with the support of Cheetos, and Cheetos supports the first needs of all animals that find a warm home, such as food and vaccinations.

An interactive space was created with delightful visuals to explain the emotional dimension of the ownership process. At the adoption stand, detailed information about the adoption process was conveyed to animal lovers by HAYTAP officials. Cheetos adoption stand will be in Bursa, Ankara and Izmir in the coming days.

The control of the adoption process is carried out by HAYTAP…

Within the scope of the project, the follow-up of the adoption activities is carried out with the support of Cheetos and through HAYTAP. A follow-up procedure of approximately one year is applied. An annual follow-up contract is arranged through HAYTAP, such as the recognition of the people who will make the adoption, the provision of certain terms and conditions, and information. Officers assigned by HAYTAP will carry out the activities of obtaining information about the health and sheltering environments of the adopted animals, by calling and visiting the animal lover for one year, inspecting and following up.

“We will continue to work for the welfare of our paw friends”

PepsiCo Turkey Food Category Marketing Senior Director Seren Çankırı made the following statement on the subject: “The welfare of animals and the improvement of their living conditions are also one of the basic conditions of our sustainability philosophy. In this context, as Cheetos, we have been carrying out comprehensive projects for a long time. In the last period, we carried out a research that reveals the perspective of domestic animals in Turkey.

Then, we supported the establishment of operating theaters in 7 different regions to protect their health, which is one of the biggest problems of stray animals. Simultaneously, we implemented Turkey’s first online love map together. In this way, animal lovers were able to provide individual aid to the shelters in their region. Now, with the cooperation of HAYTAP, we aim to ensure that our pawed friends find a loving home. Our goal is to reunite 500 of our friends with their new homes.”

“The aim is to raise awareness, encourage ownership”

HAYTAP President, Lawyer Ahmet Şenpolat, said: “We launched an important and meaningful campaign in cooperation with Cheetos. In this context, we aim to provide a home for approximately 500 pawed friends from 37 provinces. The support of our stakeholders is of great importance in this struggle that we are carrying out as HAYTAP today.

Thanks to brands like Cheetos that are animal-friendly and ready to do something about it, we are making great strides to protect animal rights and improve their quality of life. This year, we launched a nice campaign that raises awareness about the adoption of stray animals. Not only shelter, nutrition, but also love is an important basic need for street animals, and we can say that it is the most important factor.

The factor that connects them to life, develops them and makes them happy is love. Therefore, we want to attract the attention of animal friends to this issue, increase their awareness and encourage them to take care of animals in shelters. The support of the business world is very, very important for NGOs like us and of course our friends with paws. Thanks to Cheetos for this support, We hope that examples like Cheetos will multiply in our business world.”

Cheetos built operating theaters for stray animals last year

Last year, Cheetos ran the “Cheetos way of supporting paws” campaign in cooperation with HAYTAP. The project, which aims to establish operating theaters in animal shelters in 7 provinces from 7 regions, was shaped according to the results of the research titled “Street Animals and Pets Perception in Turkey” conducted by Ipsos.

An important part of the campaign was raising awareness among animal lovers for stray animals in nursing homes and facilitating their adoption. Based on this, Cheetos created Turkey’s first animal love map with the name “Cheetos Paw Map”. Later, with the cooperation of Getir, it added another operating room to the project, increasing the number of operating rooms to 8.
