Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan Resigned

Hafize Gaye Erkan, who was appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank in June, announced that she resigned from her position with a statement on social media.

Hafize Gaye Erkan was appointed as the president of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in June last year. Erkan also managed to become the first woman appointed to this position. However, today he made an important statement regarding his duty.

Hafize Gaye Erkan published a long statement on her official social media account. In his post, Erkan said, “From his position at the CBRT, which he has been serving for approximately nine months,requesting “pardon” he stated.
