Dusseldorf When it comes to Christmas, the majority of Germans love it traditionally: the Christmas tree is part of it, presents, a sumptuous meal with family and friends.
Even the many crises this year, such as the war in Ukraine, galloping prices or a sluggish economy, most Germans don’t let the festival of festivals spoil. Only a quarter want to hold back when it comes to spending and only one in ten don’t really know what to do with Christmas.
Spending time together with loved ones at home – that is the top priority for most Germans when it comes to Christmas. Only then do gifts or the baking of cookies follow.
The vast majority of the population is looking forward to the upcoming holidays: finally time for long conversations or to visit relatives. Only a small minority finds this rather annoying.
