Infinity Ward, the developer of one of the world’s most popular FPS games – first-person shooter type action – COD, gave the long-awaited news last month. Now, the release date of Activision’s new game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been announced.

In the post made by Infinity Ward on Twitter and other social media, the logo and name of the new game were shared with the public. The release date of the new production, which has the same name as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released 13 years ago, in 2009, remained unclear.
This new production will be the fifth major game in the MW (Modern Warfare) series of COD (Call of Duty) games. At the same time, we can say that with the game introduced in 2019 (named differently from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare introduced in 2007), the series started again and this will be the second game of the production.

When we look at the long-term plans of the company, we see that the interest in the classic series has decreased to a great extent in the last 1 year, so in 2023 it will take a break from the big-budget series and focus on online productions. For this reason, COD: MW 2 will be on hold until October 28.
