Infinity Ward, the developer of Call of Duty, one of the most popular FPS games in the world -first-person shooter-type action- gave the good news that gamers have been waiting for a long time. The new game of Activision’s long-running series will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
GeForce Now updated: 14 new games added!
NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service GeForce Now received the 2.0.40 update. At the same time, 14 new games were added to the library this week.
When is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 coming out?
The logo and name of the game were shared with the public in the post shared by Infinity Ward on Twitter and other social media. Of course, many people criticized the name negatively. Because it has the same name as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released 13 years ago, in 2009.
This new production will be the fifth major game in the MW (Modern Warfare) series of COD (Call of Duty) games. At the same time, we can say that with the game introduced in 2019 (named differently from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare introduced in 2007), the series started again and this will be the second game of the production.
In addition, Activision has shifted its focus towards online games. Because Call of Duty Warzone brought more success than expected. For this reason, the company said that this year, it will come up with a new free production similar to its predecessor.
When we look at the long-term plans of the company, we see that the interest in the classic series has decreased to a great extent in the last 1 year, so in 2023 it will take a break from the big-budget series and focus on online productions. Therefore, COD MW 2 is expected to be released in the second half of this year.
