Budget shortage endangers Lindner’s investment incentives for companies

Berlin Christian Lindner (FDP) has repeatedly warned his cabinet colleagues to save in recent weeks. However, the difficult budgetary situation is also forcing the finance minister to cut back on his own projects. The tax investment premiums for companies are likely to be lower or even come later, the Handelsblatt learned from government circles.

The SPD, Greens and FDP had agreed on such bonuses under the slogan “super depreciation” in the coalition agreement. The state should provide tax incentives for companies that invest in digitization and climate protection. These investment premiums were originally supposed to apply to 2022, but Lindner then postponed them – with reference to the full order books of the companies and the problems with disrupted supply chains.
