Stuttgart, Düsseldorf Bosch boss Volkmar Denner was never prone to hectic reactions during his ten-year term in office. But in the current chip crisis, delivery capability has become the absolute gold standard in the auto industry. The Bosch boss, who is leaving at the end of the year, is therefore quickly drawing conclusions. The foundation company is pushing its semiconductor strategy.
“We will invest an additional 400 million euros in chip production next year,” announced Denner in the “Handelsblatt Disrupt” podcast with editor-in-chief Sebastian Matthes. And that only four months after Bosch opened the continent’s most modern chip factory together with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. At over a billion euros, this is already the largest single investment in the company’s history – and now the Swabians are stepping up again.
